The obstacles faced by students of the College of Physical Education and Sports during practical training in schools of Wadi Hadramout and the proposed solutions for them

Abstract

The obstacles faced by students of the College of Physical Education and Sports during practical training in schools of Wadi Hadramout and the proposed solutions aim to identify the challenges encountered by students of the College of Physical Education and Sports during their practical training in some schools of Wadi Hadramout and the suggested solutions. The researcher used a descriptive approach due to its suitability for the nature and objectives of the study. A purposive random sample was selected from fourth-level students at the College of Physical Education and Sports - University of Sayun, who were undergoing practical training in schools of Wadi Hadramout during the academic year 2022-2023, totaling 20 students. The researcher employed content analysis, personal interviews, and questionnaires to collect data. The main findings revealed a range of obstacles hindering student teachers during their practical training in some schools of Wadi and Desert Hadramout, with these obstacles varying significantly in degree—high, medium, and low across the research dimensions. The researcher also proposed a set of solutions and recommended several suggestions, the most notable of which include increasing competitions within the framework of school sports to enhance social engagement among students, parents, and the community, providing sports equipment and facilities, reconsidering the practical training program in colleges of physical education, and developing physical education curricula at the Ministry of Education.
