Abstract

    The research aims to recognize the role of slaves from African elements in the history of yeomen particularly the Habesha element . there are rare information about the class slaves in the Yemeni society.

    The are rare information about role of class slaves from the beginning of the history of Bani Nagah country during the period 412-459 H/1022-1080M moreover, the research appears the role of slaves at killing to protect and defend their country with their leader Najah  AL-Habshi . AL These elements are appeared by the following points.

• Define the slaves, their position in the society and how did civilizations, religons have dealt with them.
• The factors that facilitated for Habesha slaves to come to Yemeni.
• The standing of Bari Najah country and influence areas .
• The role of slaves in political, military sides in the period of the prince Najuh AL Habashi and his fight with AL sulaiheen.

    The research inferred the following results :   

• There is acontrast among writers about the resons that facilitated growth the country of Bari Najah.
• The government of najah AL Habshi for Tihama has been happened by two different stages.
• The honesty of Habesha slaves in protection and defending their country.
• The country of Bani Nagah on the soldiers from Ethiopian class.
